Arthur Masella has directed Harold Prince's production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in over a dozen countries throughout the world. His recent New York productions include SWEENEY TODD and CANDIDE at Lincoln Center and BYRDS BOY, a new Off-Broadway play. His new production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is one of the longest running musicals in Mexico City. He has also directed the musicals YOURS, ANNE; THE MUSIC MAN; COMPANY; MAN OF LAMANCHA; JACQES BREL; GHOSTDANCE and the operas CASANOVAS HOMECOMING; CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA; OF MICE AND MEN; I PAGLIACCI; LA CENERENTOLA; LA BOHEME; RAPPACCINI'S DAUGHTER; AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS; REGINA and THE SORCERER at opera companies throughout the United States. His longtime association with Harold Prince has included working on a dozen Broadway and Opera productions including the original productions of PACIFIC OVERTURES, SWEENEY TODD, EVITA and MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. He is the co-founder and has served as Associate Chairman of the Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYUs Tisch School for the Arts.
